Welcome to A Book Of Wisdom. This book comprises of various quotes and speeches from Buddha Grandmaster Li Hongzhi. Alot of material is covered in this book including Life, The Soul, Transmigration, Other Dimensional Worlds, The Cosmos and many many other topics. Alot of the information in this book may seem quite mystical and confrontational to today's scientific paradigm and humanity's current view of the world and itself. What is known however is that ancient seers and cultivation techniques have for thousands of years been plumbing deep into the many mysteries of existance and have uncovered many things about the cosmos, man and life that 21st century knowledge and current Western empirical science still do not understand.

As is known, the human mind is the most complicated and mysterious enigma in the known universe. Science still cannot untagle what consciousness really is let alone how it works. However, there are various people in the world that have come to realize that the mind is the most powerful instrument known to peer into these mysteries of reality, these people are known by many names, Seers, Mystics, Shamans, Buddha Grandmasters and many others.

This book focuses on one such man that goes by the name of Li Hongzhi. Li is a Buddha Grandmaster who has, through arduous cultivation, become unlocked or enlightened. Mr Hongzhi began his spiritual development at a very young age (around 4 years of age) and was somewhat of a prodigy having many great enlightened Masters both from the Buddha and Tao schools pass on their teachings to him. They saw in him great potential to bring Truth and Goodness to the world.

The following short biography gives a small outline of Master Li's life and cultivation history:

"Mr. Li was born into an ordinary intellectual's family in the city of Gongzhuling, Jilin Province, China, on May 13 (the eighth day of the fourth month by China lunar calendar), 1951.

Being gifted and compassionate, he was different from the other children of his age. Seeing his mother toiling day and night, he offered to undertake the tasks of cooking, chopping wood, looking after the house, taking care of his younger brother and sisters. Feeling a sense of security, his brother and sisters and little companions were fond of playing with him.

At the age of four, Mr. Li received personal instructions from Law Master Quan Jue, the 10th heir to the Great Law of the Buddha School which has been handed down to only one disciple each time, and began his cultivation of the supreme qualities "Zhen Shan Ren" ( Truth Compassion Forbearance). At the beginning, his master only played with him and did not teach him how to practise. Whenever he did a good thing, his master would smile gladly, but when he did a bad thing, his master would look unhappy. Sometimes, a child's nature would cause him to behave naughtily on purpose. For example, he would fight with other boys. But after the
fighting, he would meet with a mishap. Sometimes he could not stand on his feet properly and would tumble repeatedly for no reason, one after another.

Sometimes he would suddenly find his hand injured and bleeding. Whenever such a thing happened, his master would stand in the distance watching him, but saying nothing. If he refused to admit that he was wrong, there would suddenly come some big boys who would give him a good beating. And his master would still as before look at him seriously and say nothing. Only when he admitted his fault would his master give him a smile.

At the age of eight, Mr. Li suddenly felt something more in the corner of his eyes, and came to realize they were three words: "Zhen Shan Ren". It was his master who had planted the words there. Other people could not see the words, but he could see them at any time. In the years following, his master told him the meaning of the three words. "Zhen" (Turth) requires that one should behave honestly, tell the truth, not cheat anyone, tell no lies, conceal no faults when he commits them and return to the origin and go back to the truth in the future. "Shan" (Compassion) requires that one should have compassion, not bully, show sympathy for the weak, give help to the poor, be ready to help others and do more good deeds. "Ren" (Forbearance) means looking at the bright side of things in the face of difficulty and insults, enduring them without resentment or hatred, grudge or revenge, and being able to bear the greatest hardship and tolerate what an ordinary person cannot tolerate.

Simple as these three words may seem, they have extremely rich connotations. They are the top secrets of the universe. Whenever Mr. Li recalled this, he would say with deep feeling, "My first master guided me for eight whole years just for these three words, which shows the great pains he took. It is easy to say 'Zhen Shan Ren', but it is rather difficult to behave according to them.

My master not only made it possible for me to see them at all times, but also printed them deep
into my mind. What's more, he would see that I put them into practice in whatever I did afterwards." Owing to such strict requirements, Mr. Li laid a solid foundation of Xinxing deep in his young heart. At the age of eight, Mr. Li attained the superb Great Law with great supernatural powers. If he just said to himself, "Nobody will see me." while playing hide-and-seek with his friends, he would not be found. Even his face was lit with a torch, others would say that they could not see him. There were long, rusty and curved nails in wood, and he was able to pull them out by a slight effort of his hand.

In winter, the water in the pipe was frozen. When he went to hook it with his hand, the pipe became bent at once, but even he himself did not know why this had happened. When playing with his little friends on the snow-covered ground, running and jumping, he would rise high into the air. When he saw two boys ready to fight and he did not want one of them to charge at the other, the one would really be unable to move. When he was in the fourth grade, once, he left his schoolbag in the classroom after school. When he returned to fetch it, he found the door of the classroom locked and the windows shut. Then, an idea came to his mind: "If only I could enter the classroom!" With the thought flashing past, he suddenly found himself already in the classroom. With another thought, he was out again. Even he himself was amazed at what had happened.

Once after this, an idea suddenly occurred to him, "How would I feel if I stopped myself in the middle of the glass?" With such a thought, he really found himself in the middle of the window glass, feeling his whole body and mind all filled with fragments of glass. He felt so uncomfortable that he wanted to go out immediately. With this thought he was out of the glass again. At that time, he did not know what supernatural powers were. He thought that everybody could do what he did, so he paid no attention to them.

Mr. Li was most influenced by his first master, who planted the seeds of "Zhen Shan Ren" in his mind, provided him with supernatural energy and helped him develop many fine qualities which have shaped his character. He was always ready to help others. Whatever he did, he first thought of others. Seeing a stone on the road, he would pick it up and throw it away for fear that others might stumble over it. When he was at the primary school, he used to swim in the South Lake. One day, when he went by the lake after school, he suddenly heard someone shouting , "A man has fallen into the lake!", "The man is getting drowned!" He went over and really saw a man struggling hopelessly in the lake far from the bank. Without any hesitation, he took off his clothes and jumped into the lake. Soon he reached the man and told him calmly, "Take breath. Don't move! I can save you." The man obediently did what he was told to. Only when he dragged the man to the bank did he realize that the man was an adult, who was much bigger than himself.

No sooner had the man had a respite on the bank than Mr. Li went home. Young Li Hongzhi did many things like this but he never mentioned them to others. When he occasionally
talked about them a dozen years later, he mentioned them casually, thinking that it was his duty to do such things and they were not worth mentioning. Young Li Hongzhi had a compassionate heart. He would shed tears when he found a good person suffering in the film or in a novel. His first master left him when he was twelve. On the point of leaving, the master said to him, "A new master will come to teach you." The second master mainly taught him Taoist Gongfu. He began to practise boxing , sword-and-spear play and did the integrated cultivation of both external and internal exercise. The master would take him to an isolated place and keep him company when he was practising. When doing the riding stance, he
would keep the posture for hours. He practised so hard that he often dripped with sweat.

Consequently his body became as soft as cotton and as hard as iron. Time flied with spring gone and autumn in. Two years had passed before he knew it. How much he had sweated an ordinary person could hardly imagine, but as a reward, his Gongfu had reached the acme of perfection. Soon his second master, for whom he had a deep affection, was also to leave him.

On the eve of departure, the master said to him, I'm called Eight-Pole-Immortal. I'm wandering
about without any destination. After I am gone, the only thing you should keep in mind is: Practise diligently. In the days afterwards, Mr. Li firmly bore in mind his master's instructions. He practised diligently at an isolated place in the dead of the night. With the passage of time, winter in and summer gone, the calluses that had appeared on his hands and the shirts that had been soaked with sweat were beyond count. Practice makes perfect. His Gongfu had already reached an advanced level in his cultivation of Shi Jian Fa ( the In-Triple-World-Law) when he
was only a teenager.

Mr. Li got a job in 1972. That year, a third master - a master of the Great Way School with the Taoist alias of True Taoist came from the Changbai Mountains. Unlike his two former masters, this master wore no Taoist's robe, but he was dressed like an ordinary man. He never said where he lived. This master mainly taught inner cultivation. At that time, people did not dare to practise qigong openly, so he usually practised at night.

Sometimes, his master would take his Zhu Yi Shi (the Main Consciousness) out for practice. In sleep, he could often feel his master putting something into his brain and Celestial Eye. The inner cultivation of the Great Way School had strict requirements for the practitioner's Xinxing. His master demanded that he should cultivate his Xinxing in daily life. Whenever he did something wrong, his master would appear before him, blaming and reprimanding him through the mouths of others.

Owing to such strict requirements, Mr. Li Hongzhi 's Xinxing had reached an extremely high level. His colleagues all found that he was kind and honest, and they were pleased to get along with him. He never argued with others. Not understanding him, some people said that he was foolish, for he did not take what he ought to, nor did he ask for what he should. He had indeed arrived at such a realm of awareness that he had freed himself from all kinds of desires and personal interests of ordinary people.

He behaved all in accordance with nature, caring little about fame and gain and behaving with self-composure. In the face of being wronged or blamed for no reason, other people would defend him against the injustice done to him, but he himself just laughed it away.

The master of the Great Way School was gone in 1974. Later, came a female master of the Buddha School, who chiefly taught Buddha School's cultivation principles and exercise to him. By that time, though Mr. Li was only twenty-three or so, his energy potency had reached a very high level. In 1982, he was transferred to civilian work in the city of Changchun and began to practise even more painstakingly than ever before. Over a period of about a dozen of years, he received instructions successively from more than twenty masters from both the Buddha School and the Tao School, with a different master teaching him at each different level of cultivation.
Whenever he reached a new level in cultivation, he would undergo a tribulation. Many of the tribulations were so great that they were hard for an ordinary person to imagine.

Now, Mr. Li's energy potency has reached an extremely high level. Some of his supernatural powers are difficult for ordinary people to imagine or understand. One evening in July, 1990, he was practising with several disciples of his in the courtyard of an institution in Beijing. Soon, the sky was overcast with dark clouds. Then came the thunder and lightening, which exploded as if just above their heads. The disciples began to grow restless because the weather was not fit for practice according to the general rules of practice. Seeing their master still sitting cross-legged on a large rock as steadily as a mountain with no intention to waver or shrink back, they went on with their practice. Strangely enough, it did not rain, though the black clouds were very thick and low, with thunders rolling in the sky. When the practice came to an end, Mr. Li said to his disciples calmly, "It won't rain within thirty minutes. Don't worry about it. Just go your way."

One of the disciples lived in the west of the city. It took him about thirty minutes to get home by bus. No sooner had he entered his house than the rain pelted down as if the sky were leaking. There are many miraculous stories about Mr. Li. As ordinary people may find them
incredible, we are not going to write more about them. After dozens of years' diligent cultivation, Mr. Li's energy potency reached an extremely high level. Above all,
he has been able to see the truth of the universe, many more beautiful things which have existed there for a long time, as well as the origin, development and future of mankind."

I hope this book will provide you with many insights and inspirations, to realize just how mystical, magical and mysterious this world really is........

“Theres a principle in this cosmos, no being will suffer in vain”.

2

“How vast this cosmos is! Even the gods at different levels and of different realms will be cast down if they violate the rules of Heaven. Over the long course of time, when they’ve turned bad and aren’t able to stay in their realms, they fall to lower realms. Some have turned particularly bad and will be cast down to the human level. Some have become even worse than humans, so they won’t even have the chance to be humans, and may even be destroyed. Then it’s even worse for human beings.”

3

“Let me tell you, the love that Jesus, St. Mary, and Yahweh talked about is not the “love” understood by human beings—it is compassion. Because today’s humankind doesn’t have the word for compassion in the Western language, people of later generations used the word “love” in place of what gods said. This type of love, to gods, is filthy, while compassion is what’s sacred. Because of love, humans are immersed in sexual desire.

Because of love, people are immersed in sinful, depraved sexual behavior. Because of love, humans do a lot of bad things and things that gods can’t tolerate. Love has a side that humankind considers good, which includes helping each other. At the same time, it has a bad, negative side. Compassion, on the other hand, is completely good. So the love Western Gods talked about in the past, I’ll tell you again explicitly, is called compassion, and not the love that people talk about in this human world. That’s because there was no concept of compassion in your culture. Your ancestors used the word “love” to record the words of gods, that’s all.”

4

“Didn’t Jesus say that if people did bad things they would go to hell? I can only tell you the following. Some of you may have read the New Testament and the Old Testament. The New Testament, especially, was all written down by this person or that person , paragraph upon paragraph of recorded words— words that were recorded from memory.

That is, those who listened to Jesus’ teachings wrote them down based on what they recalled . But could the words spoken by Jesus over the course of his life—think about it, everyone—be as few as what are contained in that book? That few? Jesus talked about many things. Many, many things were forgotten by people and not recorded as a result. So why didn’t they get recorded? Another reason was that human beings only deserved to know so much.

Since the Buddha Fa, even at the Tathagata level, cannot be completely made known to human beings , what Shakyamuni taught when he was in the human world was Arhat level Fa , and human beings could only know that much. What Jesus said was sufficient to allow those who followed his words to reach heaven —that was enough . So God s didn’t let too much of it remain here. In the East , e ven though there are many scriptures, all of them are fragmented and incomplete recordings from memory —that’s for sure.

From a different perspective, some Caucasians reincarnated from Asians. So if you don’t have these things while in the West, could you have experienced them when you reincarnated as Asians? Moreover, many Asians and Westerners reincarnate in reciprocation , that is , they reincarnate into each other back and forth. Some people feel close to Asian culture, some to Western culture. It’s possible that this is caused by the traits left from their reincarnations in different periods of time. Yet even though you may be white, or you may be yellow or black, you could belong to any race.”

5

“Let me tell you what compassion is. People in the society of ordinary people think that if they live quite comfortably with no disasters or hardships, if each day is pleasant and carefree, and if they’re not short of money and have everything they need, then God is compassionate toward them and is being really good to them. Let me tell you though, that God isn’t like that. If He were really that way, He would be being terrible to people.

That’s because human reasoning is totally reversed. You know that people living in this world are bound to have social interactions, and so they will accrue karma. Jesus said that people have sins. Because they have sins they dropped down to this dimension of ordinary people. They are accruing karma in this dimension and committing sins lifetime after lifetime. By wanting to be comfortable, aren’t you unwilling to pay for your karma?

If you don’t pay for the karma and you accrue more in this life, in your next life you won’t even get a human body—you might reincarnate into something worse. And if you accrue still more karma you can only fall towards hell. If you fall even further you will be destroyed. Then when it’s looked at in light of this principle, tell me, how should God treat you if he is to be considered “good to you”? That’s what causality is.

What do I view as true compassion (cibei), then? If a person is truly good, he will encounter many, many hardships in this life. The goal is to have him pay his karmic debts in the midst of these hardships, to seize this lifetime in which he has a human body and quickly pay for all of it. After all debts are repaid he can go up to a heavenly paradise to enjoy happiness forever. So he will suffer when among ordinary people.

Think about it, then: What is true compassion? Buddhas ’ take on things is completely different from that of human beings. Ordinary people think that Buddhas or Gods are compassionate to people if they let them enjoy ordinary, human fortune. They complain to heaven and earth when they suffer, “Oh, God, why do you forsake me? I’m a lost soul! ” By having you pay for karma , God is taking care of you so that you may return. How wonderful it is to return to a place where there is no birth , annihilation, or falling downwards. That is true compassion”.

6

“There’s something I can tell you: Nothing in the world is by chance —gods are watching. In this dimension , there are those who arrange reincarnation, those who are responsible for order in society, those who arrange social systems, those who control the stability of the earth, those who are in charge of the air and the various components of air, and those who watch over what different gods are doing on the earth. In this dimension there are all kinds of gods. How could they not be overseeing such things? Could the things in human society just follow from what people want? That ’s absolutely impossible.”

7

“The entire universe is composed of True, Good, Endure. Let me put it this way: The two substances, mutual-generation and mutual- inhibition, are both created in the universe by True, Good, Endure. If in this universe only the positive side existed, it would be extremely pitiful for beings. They would have neither happiness nor pain , and life would be a bore. It’s exactly because there is hardship and pain that people know to cherish and treasure happiness when they have it ; only this way will they feel that life is interesting. So since there exists a positive side in the universe, the existence of a negative side was arranged for beings, and it can eliminate karma for them.”

8

“There is a positive side and a negative side. As the negative side gets to the level down here, it becomes the bad side; while the positive side , as it gets to the level down here, is the good (shan) side. We must always have our good side be in command. Buddha Shakyamuni said that all sentient beings have Buddha-nature. Actually, let me tell you that all sentient beings have demon-nature at the same time.

That is, demon-nature and Buddha-nature coexist in each being. In situations where a person loses his temper or is violent or irrational, it is his demon-nature at work. In situations where a person is rational, kind, and compassionate, it is that person’s Buddha-nature at work. The se two different natures manifest under different circumstances. Why is there violence in human society? Ordinary people hold demonstrations and protests when they want to take a stand on some issue or to reason with someone. There is violence and yelling, and they even take up arms. That’s because people have a demonic side.”

9

“Buddhism has always talked about the paths of asura, animals, humans, and heavens. Let me tell you that no matter the path, they’re all reincarnations within the Three Realms among humans, animals, substances, plants, and living beings in other dimensions within the Three Realms. The reincarnations are retributions—either rewards or tribulations—that came from the causal reasons which resulted from how good or bad a person was in the world. That is, if you do a lot of wicked things, you might reincarnate on the path of animals or even go to hell.

If you do a lot of good things, you’ll reincarnate on the path of heavens or you might enjoy ease and comfort, a high-ranking position, or wealth among human beings; the heavens referred to here are the different levels of heavens in the Three Realms, as they’re within the boundary of the Three Realms and lives there are still subject to reincarnation. These are obtained by doing good deeds, and it’s called “the repayment of blessings” or “the rewards for goodness.”

10

“Some people say that they’ll go to Heaven after they die. People who haven’t practiced cultivation are, in the words of your Western culture, called “spirits” after they die. These spirits are actually ghosts. Think about it, everyone: What are they? People in the East have a clear and definite concept of human body cultivation: One develops a Buddha-body through cultivation, that is, a divine body. If a person doesn’t have this Buddha-body—in other words, if a person doesn’t have the body of a heavenly paradise’s god—his spirit fears light after coming forth [from his body]. It disintegrates in sunlight, and can’t even reincarnate.

That’s why people are covered with a cloth after they die—it prevents exposure to sunlight—and buried in the earth so that their spirits won’t disintegrate. Buddhas and gods are infinitely brilliant, even brighter than sunlight. Wouldn’t a person’s spirit dissolve were he to see a god? How could it go to Heaven? It thus needs to have the body of a god and, at the same time, change the compositional elements of its intelligent beings through cultivation to make them comprised of high-energy matter.

Only with a Buddha-body or a god-body can it go. Can a spirit come to the human world? No, it can’t. So before it can stay in this world, it needs to have a human body to reincarnate with and needs to be born through the bodies of parents. Some people mistakenly think that they’ll go to Heaven if they just have faith. How could that be? It sounds ridiculous to those of us in cultivation circles. You have to truly practice cultivation before you can go to Heaven.

So in Western religions, in the process of having faith in God, a person’s heart nature and his realm of mind continually elevate, and he becomes a better and better person. Then wouldn’t you say he’s practicing cultivation? Form is unimportant in cultivation; there are all kinds of cultivation methods. It’s a difference in cultivation forms between Western and Eastern religions. Why don’t they mention cultivation in the West, like they do in the East? Both are in fact cultivation. It’s simply that Eastern culture is very specific with regard to this, while Western culture doesn’t talk about these things.

That’s because when gods come down to save people and to impart their Law, they need to adopt a cultural form that’s intelligible to people. Only then can you understand—only [when they] use the human languages of those times can you understand. What I’ve said is also to tell you that practicing ordinary qigong can’t enable people to reach a very high, profound realm. It’s impossible. Only real cultivation can do so.

Qigong is only something at the lowest level in cultivation, so it’s limited to healing illness and maintaining health. Even when it comes to healing illness and maintaining health there are some requirements for people, because after all, it’s a form of cultivation and is different from any kind of medical treatment that exists among everyday people. If you want to learn qigong to heal your illness, you have to meet the requirements of qigong’s principles.

What does it mean to meet the requirements of qigong’s principles? Because it’s beyond the ordinary—if you want to use extraordinary means to treat illness without resorting to medication, shots, or surgery, and be cured, isn’t it supernormal?—human beings have to conform to its principles before their illnesses can be truly healed.

This is the fundamental reason why many people fail to get rid of their health problems even though they practice qigong. Since you want to use this supernormal method to eliminate your illness, you have to conform to the supernormal principles. So you have to follow qigong’s requirements, be a good person, and break your tendency to do bad or immoral things—only then will your illness be truly cured. This is the real reason behind recovery from illness.

This doesn’t apply should you opt for everyday people’s medical treatments. You will then have to undergo surgery, get shots, or take medication in order to recover. Yet there’s a principle in the universe, called, “no loss, no gain.” To gain, you must lose; when you lose, you will gain. This is an absolute truth. Do you know why your illness improves in the hospital? Some people say that it’s healed through the technological means of modern science.

I say that’s just modern people playing out a way, or a form, of manifestation in modern society. The true reason behind your recovery isn’t limited to that. Things have to conform to the principles of the universe in this dimension. You know that when you’re sick you have to spend a lot of money seeing doctors. Of course, some countries have good social welfare programs, and people in those societies have health insurance that can resolve this problem.

But you still suffer—don’t you suffer when you’re sick? You are afflicted when you’re suffering, and suffering is itself a way of paying off karma. In addition, you need to spend money, have injections, take medication, and you might even be cut open in surgery. Haven’t you endured suffering before your condition starts to improve? But let me tell you that this recovery hasn’t corrected the illness at its root: it has pushed the illness karma to somewhere else or postponed it to the future.

This is because the illness doesn’t originate from the outermost surface of an ordinary human’s physical body; rather, it comes from the plane of microscopic particles beneath the body made of the largest molecules. The human body is composed of molecules that have particles at different microscopic planes, and each plane of particles is a dimension. Of course, the dimensions aren’t stacked up together. They are in the form of smaller particles comprising larger particles. Yet the realm of each plane of small particles is a dimension. There are many dimensions like these, and it’s actually there that the causes of many illnesses reside. Illnesses don’t come from the surface. What appears on the surface of a person’s flesh or tissues is only the superficial manifestation of an illness.

After you have surgery, you think that your tumor has been removed. Actually, what’s been removed is the flesh tissue that’s made up of the plane of the largest molecules. It is removed, as its cells are no longer present in this dimension. Yet you can’t remove the more microscopic particles that comprise the cells. But since you no longer see those cells at the body’s surface after they are removed, it appears as if you’re healed. Later on, the illness might transform, and some illnesses might relapse. Since the illness wasn’t truly eliminated, it might move to somewhere else and another tumor might reemerge there. Or maybe it will be transformed into some other illness or some misfortune.

This is the real underlying reason that we’ve observed. When supernormal abilities are used to treat an illness, however, surgery isn’t necessary. Why can a supernormal ability remove a person’s tumor? It’s because it removes the illness from another dimension, a dimension that’s invisible to the human eye. Let’s use a simple illustration. You see that this cloth has a lump protruding up here. Why? It’s because there’s a cause behind it—my hand is behind it. If you take the cloth away but you don’t remove the hand, it will come over to this side. This means that if you don’t resolve the cause behind it, you can’t eliminate the problem at its root. In other words, human medical treatments can’t solve the fundamental problem, for they only resolve problems on the surface and can’t eliminate karma.

In this world, whether a person loses or gains, whether he’s happy, whether he’s totally content with how things are going, whether he has good fortune, and the extent of his misfortune—all of these are determined by two substances carried on his body. One is called virtue (de), and the other, karma (yeli). It’s just these two substances taking effect. We accumulate virtue when we do good things. In the old days people talked about accumulating virtue. People now consider it something conceptual or in the realm of mind. Actually, it’s a type of matter, a truly tangible substance. The karma that people speak about has been clearly explained in Eastern religions.

What is karma? It’s a black substance. A person generates this material when he does wrong. When too much of this thing is accumulated, he will have unpleasant things happen to him, such as getting sick, having misfortune, or going through hard times. I’ve found that everything that happens to humans is the result of what humans themselves have done. In this human world, whether you are happy and whether you are doing well are the result of your own doing. These things often manifest in your present life, while some of these things will manifest in your next life; most of them manifest in the next life. What’s meant by “manifest in the next life”? It means that it won’t occur in this lifetime but will appear in your following lifetime.

The part that manifests in this life is called “retribution in the same life” by cultivation circles in the East. [That is,] after doing something wrong, you will meet with immediate retribution. Some people fall on their face when they step out the door after doing something bad. They don’t see it as retribution for doing wrong, but think it’s coincidental or natural.

I hold that there’s no such thing as “natural phenomena,” as all things are ordered—coincidence doesn’t exist. In this dimension there are many, many things that people aren’t able to see. Of course, modern science knows that there is air, oxygen, hydrogen, and other trace elements that are composed of molecules, but that’s all it knows. Yet your eyes can’t even see those things.

Actually, I can tell you that in this dimension, at the extremely microscopic level, they are—including the enormous, pervasive matter—all gods. They know clearly every move and every action made by humans and the things they’ve done. When people do bad things they always think that nobody can see what they’ve done. They know that what they did was wrong but still try to find a self-deceptive excuse that will allow them to feel justified and at ease. They don’t believe in gods whatsoever. Here’s an offhand example.

It doesn’t involve any matters of religion or race, I’m just talking about people doing wrong. You probably know that a few days ago a certain country conducted nuclear tests, exploding five atomic bombs in succession. Many countries were shocked! That’s because people the world over all long for peace.

What were their atomic explosions for? I’m not invested in any notions. I’m only talking about people doing the wrong thing, I’m not commenting on whether that nation was right or wrong. Let’s think about it. Although the nuclear bombs were detonated underground, gods won’t tolerate the damage they do to the earth, to the human environment, and to the material world that’s composed of different [sized] molecules! When Heaven punishes humans they think it’s a natural phenomenon.

The temperature in that country immediately shot up to the highest in the world. It stayed at over 122°F (50°C), and a lot of people died from the heat. And a windstorm came along later and caused many deaths. People don’t realize these phenomena are the warning of gods: “You cannot do that.” People just take them to be natural phenomena. Nothing that happens in this world is coincidental. Just take a look: If any nation, region, or individual does something bad, some special phenomena will immediately follow. Disasters and everything that befalls humans are the result of their own conduct. Just now I briefly discussed some things at an elementary level.”

“As I just stated, many people come from remote places. Think about it, then: The differences among them and in their characteristics are quite substantial. As a long period of time passes and living beings continually become no longer as good (in the language of the heavens, there is nothing like “good” or “bad”; the words or concept they often use is that something “becomes heavy”), they begin to sink and deposit.

When they’re no longer so pure, light and floating, they deposit. In fact, the substance has varied; that is, it’s already impure. The course of its continual deposit was this type of process. Yet it’s an extremely slow process, and people don’t perceive any changes in themselves; neither do gods feel that they have themselves undergone changes. This is because the time it takes is extremely long—it can’t be calculated with human time.

In terms of time, different dimensions have different times. Time is incredibly complex. It’s almost like the gears of different sizes inside a clock, but the actual complexity is more than a billion-fold or trillion-fold that. It can’t be generalized with any human concept. It has its own revolution and its own time. Those substances have deposited, bringing these variations with them. Upon reaching the human level, people perceive the human mind to be complicated. In fact, I can tell you that the human mind is indeed very complicated because it went through a much-extended period of time before arriving here.

During that much-extended period of time, your life carried with it things from every level. Scientists today know that seventy percent of the human brain goes unutilized. That is, human intelligence is reduced. If there were no restraints on human intelligence so that humans could have as much wisdom as gods, it would be terrible for those complicated thoughts of yours to exist in human society. It would be hard to say what changes might take place in human society. So speaking of this matter, I want to tell you in passing that the current development of humankind is not a good thing. There’s no limit to human greed.

It’s really a bad thing when a person achieves a high level and still has greed, hoping to go even higher. Why is it? If people were to go beyond the state of human beings or beyond what can be known by human beings, it would be extremely dangerous for humankind. The reason human intelligence is restricted is that humans are forbidden to know that much or have that much wisdom.

Since I’ve come as far as this, I might as well make a few more remarks. Consider the following: If every one of you really pays attention to your own thoughts, you will find that they change instantly. Many thoughts can crop up within a second, and you have no idea where they come from. Some thoughts are quite bizarre—they are those various notions from your many previous lives. They will come forth when you run into a problem. Every person acquires notions postnatally that are selfish and protective of his or her own interests, and this is why humans are becoming more and more immoral.

It’s for this reason that human beings can only fall downward instead of rising to higher levels. The Enlightened Beings, Buddhas and Gods, come to save people since they see these things. Of course, numerous other complicated factors are involved as well. Gods will not save just anyone—all of them look only to save their own people.”

“When all creatures, matter, and beings in the cosmos become impure, it’s a deviation from the essential nature of the cosmos; it deviates from the Fa. The Fa of the cosmos has created living environments for beings at different levels. When the beings and substances over a long period of time become impure, they no longer fulfill the Fa’s requirements at that level.

This is why beings can drop down—they descend when they no longer conform. The worse they become, the lower they drop until they reach the level of humankind. Yet this isn’t the last stop. In this scenario, if that kind of problem occurs for substances on a large, full scale, the danger will become very serious and hard to detect.”

13

“I already said earlier that the entire cosmos, or an even greater reach, has deviated from the Law. Doesn’t that include humankind? Weren’t religions established by human beings? If all beings in the cosmos have deviated from the Law, do the beings that have deviated from the Law not include the heavens that humans believe in? If the heavens of Buddhas, Daos, and Gods are all part of it, think about what kind of problem this is.

Regardless of who taught in those years—Jesus, Sakyamuni, Lao Zi, or Yahweh—at the time when they did their teaching, all beings and lives in the cosmos had already deviated for a long time from the essential nature of the cosmos.

Let me give you an example in the coarsest language. Suppose the heavens of Buddhas and Gods are made of gold, but that over the course of a long period of time they had become impure and no longer of solid gold. They were still made of gold, but the gold was only 18-carat or 16-carat. Today, the Law is rectified; the gold is pure, solid, and 24-carat. Nevertheless, the religions or cultivation practices they left behind all came from the 18-carat-gold or 16-carat-gold periods, and they can’t meet the criteria for the new heavens of Gods and Buddhas.

Could a person still return to a heaven of 24-carat pure gold? Even if one such molecule were to return, it would contaminate that heaven; so this isn’t allowed to happen. Isn’t that the case? So I’m taking this opportunity to tell you that none of the religions in the world today—which includes all of those righteous ones taught by Buddhas, which I won’t call wicked—can provide the means for humans to reach Consummation anymore.

Regardless of which religion a person chooses and how well he cultivates, even if he completely follows what was taught by a Buddha or Jesus in those years, the most he can accomplish is to reach the highest principle then taught by Sakyamuni or Jesus. Yet it’s only of 16 or 18-carat gold. Could he still return to a heaven of solid gold? This isn’t to say that Sakyamuni and Jesus aren’t good enough. What I’m saying is that beings in the entire cosmos have deviated from the Fa, and both of them are just among the elements—that’s the case.

I won’t go into detail, as it’s a big issue. Humans just obstinately stick to a wrong course; they only believe what they can see now. Humans also have a very serious and ingrained habit—they don’t look at things rationally; rather, they like to do them emotionally. Because of their emotions, they can’t forgo things inherited from ancient times and don’t use their rationality to analyze what exactly is right or wrong.”

14

“Hand signs are very complicated. They’re just like all these words with which I’m teaching you the Law today. Hand signs in motion are a language. A series of them gestured is a passage of Law taught. If it were something I could tell you with words, I wouldn’t make hand signs for you today. The reason is that such content can’t be spoken. You think that what I’ve said today is lofty; you must have thought so. You have no idea how much loftier the hand signs are than this—they show the truth.”

15

“We have found that, for a person, being human is not the purpose. People today are all lost in the false reality of ordinary human society and think that they have to be this way as human beings. In particular, the moral values of the human society are now declining very badly. Everyone is drifting downward in this flooding current, and society as a whole is declining. Then, no one is aware that he is declining downhill. Some people think that they are good people when they consider themselves a little bit better than others.

In fact, you are sizing yourselves up against this declined standard, and you are only a little bit better than others amidst all the badness. If you are able to practice cultivation and return to this original realm of human society, you will find even from not too high a level that today’s people and the human society rather frightening! It is truly terrifying! You will find that mankind today are indeed full of all the ten sins.

The great enlightened beings, may they be Buddhas, Taoists, or gods, no longer consider today's people as human beings. This statement may seem to be a bit absolute. Of course, there are still good people. However, what they are referring to is mankind as a whole and on a large scale. It is indeed like this. In the past, when one went to a temple or a church to make a confession, he would feel that Jesus or a being in heaven was indeed listening to him talking. In addition, there would be such a responding echo in his mind as though answering his questions.

Yet, people today will not have such a feeling, and those who worship Buddhas cannot see the presence of Buddhas either. Why is that? It is because people in human society have become less and less enlightened, and people in human society have become increasingly corrupted. Then, gods will no longer take care of them. Because modern people have quite a great deal of karma and are becoming less and less enlightened, when facing retribution after they have done something wrong, they would take it as a mere coincidence. I have seen that although human moral values are declining very badly, yet people are all declining with this flooding current without being aware of it. Some people still have their Buddha nature and their original nature.”

16

“The issue that I have just mentioned is to say that the purpose of a human life is not to be a human being. Many people probably still do not quite understand what it means. They think that human beings should just live this way. Yes, when you were born from your mother's womb, everyone was the same and could not see the existence of other dimensions. Then, you would not believe them either.

In addition, people nowadays believe too much in modern science while modern science is in itself incomplete and imperfect. The extent of its understanding of this universe is very shallow or it is something of very low level in other words. Then, when people believe in it excessively, it will make mankind face the greatest danger: namely, the human morality will be thoroughly destroyed.

Accordingly, the paradises up there no longer regard people without moral values as human beings! Because it is not only human beings who have the external human form, ghosts, monkeys, and apes all exist with brains and four limbs. The reason that man is called man is because he must have the human moral codes to live in the world with the standard of human morality as well as the human way of existence. Without these, gods will not regard people as human beings. However, people all think how they should live better and how they should develop.

Nevertheless, human society is controlled by higher lives, and mankind can never reach the realm of Buddha through technology. Otherwise, star wars would indeed break out! Therefore, the human technology that bears the competitive mentality, jealousy, various kinds of sentimentality and desires is just not allowed to reach a higher standard. More than seventy percent of the human brain cannot be used, and modern medicine has also recognized this point. Why is it? Human wisdom is repressed. Why do Buddhas have great wisdom and great supernatural powers then? Why are they able to know everything? And have great wisdom and intelligence? It is because of this principle that I have just explained.”

17

“I said earlier that man was not created in this physical dimension of ours and talked about the purpose of being a human being. If man continues to decline, he will face elimination, a thorough elimination, which is called, "extinction of body and soul." It is very frightening! Therefore, Buddhas want to save man precisely from facing such a helpless situation and to save you to heavens away from the suffering of mankind. That is truly and fundamentally solving the issue of human suffering. The starting point of people nowadays for believing in Buddhas is entirely different from that of people in antiquity who believed in Buddhas.

In the past, people who believed in Buddhas worshipped Buddhas, cultivated Buddhahood, respected Buddhas, and did not have any other motives. People nowadays believe in Buddhas in order to ask for something from Buddhas. However, to Buddhas, this mind of pursuit is the dirtiest and the filthiest mind. Therefore, think about it, everyone. Buddhas are to save you, and yet, you pray for comfort and happiness among ordinary people. If you were really allowed to be blissfully happy and to live in great comfort among ordinary people, you really would not want to become a Buddha. You would be a Buddha right now.

How can this be possible? Instead of your repaying the karma owed from lifetime after lifetime and the bad deeds that you have done, you only seek happiness. How can that be attained by pursuit? You have only one choice: to practice cultivation and only then can you eliminate the karma that you owe. Suppose that you do not wish to become a Buddha, you must be a good person, do more good deeds, and do fewer wicked deeds. Only then can you be happy in the future, and the life of your genuine self can be extended. However, it is possible that after your brain is cleansed at the time of reincarnation, you may be reincarnated into a bad environment, drifting with its tide to the brink of destruction.”

18

“The people in this universe are not meant to be human beings, but to practice cultivation to go back and to return to the place where you were created. One may say, "I am in ordinary human society, and I cannot give up the ordinary people's sentimentality. If I practice cultivation, what about my wife, sons, daughters, parents, and brothers? Then, I will be living without meaning." That is your understanding from your human point of view and a thought on the present basis. When you move up to a new basis and after raising your level, you will not think this way. When you are in another realm, you will not think this way.

However, I will tell you a principle. Who are your real relatives? Here I am not interfering with your family relations. In samsara you are human this lifetime and an animal or a plant in the next lifetime. From one life to another, how many parents, wives, sons, daughters, sisters and brothers have you had in each lifetime? In your long journey of life, you are even unable to count them. Also, some are human and some are not human. Which ones are real? It is just that human beings are lost too deeply in the maze! Your real parents are in the place where the universe created you. That is where your parents are.

This is because life has two kinds of origins: one is the life created from the motion of enormous matter; the other is the life with a form that is created from the motion of matter in the universe. In itself, it is like a person who is pregnant, giving birth to a life. For such lives, they will have parents. Therefore, your real parents are right now watching you over there, hoping that you will return; but instead of returning, you get lost here and still feel that your relatives are all here.

For human beings to be human is not the goal. The goal is to return to your original true self. Once a person has this thought of cultivating Buddhahood, though he does not have the opportunity of cultivation, still, he has seeded the benevolent fruit of cultivating Buddhahood. Why is it said this way? It is that for him to have this thought is just too precious! For a person in an environment as bitter as this and in an environment as confusing as this, he still has the heart to go back and the heart to cultivate Buddhahood and to be kind.

Then, if you want to practice cultivation, everyone will help you and think of ways to give you the green light. When a person has such a thought, it will shake the world in ten directions. It is as glittering as gold and everyone will be able to see it. If this person wants to practice cultivation, it will be this way. With so much karma, what could be done? Then, measures have to be taken to eliminate the karma for you. Elimination of karma cannot be done unconditionally, nor can it all be eliminated for you. To what extent can others do it for you? I do not look at it. However, it is said in Buddhism that you cannot succeed in your cultivation in one lifetime, and that only after a few reincarnations can you succeed in your cultivation. Namely, you are unable to eliminate that much karma all at once.”

19

“Why is Christianity in the West while Buddhism in the East? Why are the oriental religions or the Western religions not the same and have such great differences? In fact, Christianity is also within the Buddha School system, except that the differences in the human species, cultures and celestial cultures have caused the differences in the human appearance and in their ways of thinking. Namely, the characteristics of human standards are not the same, which lead to the differences in their ways of cultivation of Buddhahood and in their concepts and understanding of gods at higher levels. There is no difference in essence and they are all in the Buddha realm.

Jesus is, in fact, at the level of Tathagata. But, because of differences in culture, in ideological concepts, and in appearance, he is not called a Buddha. The name of Buddha is used in the East. Of course, because of the differences and variations in appearance, people in Jesus' paradise all dress in white robes while people in a Buddha's paradise all dress in yellow robes. The hair is also different, and the greatest difference lies in the hair variations. One in the Taoist School wears his hair in a bun. An Arhat in the Buddha School is bald while a Bodhisattva wears the hairstyle like an ancient Chinese woman.

Why is that? Because such ancient Chinese attire is the same as that of heavenly people. Actually, it is the same as what heavenly people wear in the paradise of heaven. It is also the same way in the West, and that's the way they dress in their heavenly paradise. People are just this way. Certainly, the fashion nowadays is all in new styles. In fact, the clothes worn by the contemporary people are the worst and ugliest.

Why is there no Buddhism in the world of the white people, and no Christianity in the world of the oriental people? Strictly speaking, there is not. I remember that Jehovah and Jesus all said in the Bible or books as such, "You should not go to the East." There are other things said, but I only remembered this sentence, "You should not go to the East," telling his disciples not to pass on the teaching in the East. His disciples did not listen to his words and followed the expeditionary forces to the East. A problem then occurred.

The races in the world are not allowed to be mixed up. Now, the races are mixed up and it has brought about an extraordinarily serious problem. Once races are mixed up, one does not have a corresponding relationship with the higher levels, and he has lost the root. Mixed races have lost their roots, as if nobody in the paradise will take care of them. They belong to nowhere, and no places would accept them. Therefore, you find the place where the continents of Europe and Asia meet a desert in the past and a depopulated zone.

When the transportation means were not advanced, it was difficult to pass through it. With the progress of modern means, all these are broken through. Thus, races have become increasingly mixed up, which can lead to serious consequences. Of course, I will not go into details. I'm just saying that the higher levels do not recognize such a human race.

The issue I just mentioned is that human races have a corresponding relationship to the higher levels. The white people at higher levels constitute a small portion, a very small portion of the universe in this world and in this universe. That is their paradise of heaven. However, there is an extraordinarily large number of yellow people and Buddhas' paradises as well as Taoist paradises. They have almost filled up the entire universe. There are as many Tathagata Buddhas as the sand in the Ganges River, who are extremely plentiful and extraordinarily big.

People with the appearance of the yellow people are particularly plentiful. Thus, races are corresponding with one another from the top to the bottom. Jesus said that you should not pass on the teaching in the East, which was meant to say that they do not belong to us. Jesus told people not to spread the teaching in the East. I have also found no oriental people in Jesus' paradise. It is very sad! People in modern times do not listen to the words of their Lord, and the oriental people do not listen to the Buddha's teaching either. Therefore, man has messed up these things. I have also found no white people in a Buddha's paradise in the past.”

20

“Everything is constructed by “Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance.”

21

“Other universes have the same laws. Within the same realm, no matter how far away a universe may be, like any other universe, it conforms to the “Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance.” law of this cosmic body. They all conform to the same level of laws. No matter how immense you imagine the universe to be, it is still but a particle within its realm. So a particle must meet the standard of that realm to exist in that realm. And that standard is a manifestation of the specific Law of that level.”

22

“Zhen, Shan, Ren is the special quality of the entire cosmos, and the Fa of the cosmos comes from Zhen, Shan, Ren. The lower it goes, the more complicated the Fa becomes, and the more and the greater its requirements become, just like a pyramid. This The Great Law has created environments of existence at different levels for all sentient beings in the cosmos, and created Buddhas, Daos, Gods, and humans at different levels as well as demons and other sentient beings, including those of heaven and earth, and all matter.

This cosmos is so complicated that it can’t be described clearly with human language. Moreover, it has other different states of being, which provide all sentient beings with elements of existence at different levels, such as mutual-generation and mutual-inhibition, Yin and Yang, and so on—many, many things.”

23

“The life and the substances of the human body that people refer to—namely, the composition of this body—together with the warping of the mind can change a person’s behavior and way of life, while ways of life can also change the composition of the particles in the human body. If this type of warping is passive, one that is controlled by some kind of creature, then it is utterly dreadful for human beings.

It’s similar to the question of why humans can develop notions postnatally and why those notions can turn around and control man. If you don’t eliminate them, they will become part of you in this life, and may even become a part that dominates you. In other words, this cultural framework that aliens have imposed upon people on Earth has completely formed a set of methods for living and perceiving the material world; it has already become that way. So, once they have something like this in place, the kind of body I mentioned can be developed. How do you drive a car? You have to use their methods.

How do you build a machine? How do you operate the stuff they created? This series of things has penetrated all of man’s ways of living. It has developed this kind of body, formed this kind of thinking, and developed these sorts of things. I said last time that everybody who operates a computer has been cataloged by aliens with a number. That’s absolutely true.

Aliens are in the final stage of being cleaned out. Yet there are still some that are hiding, but they are rarely seen now. They used to hide in those super-material dimensions in order to control human beings. I have talked about super-matter, and that is where they hid, so it was very difficult to detect them. Human beings believe that only the existing molecules are the most material, when in fact there are things more material than molecules. They hid in those places in order to control human beings. We have already completed those dimensions—things in those dimensions have been cleaned up.”

24

“You know, whether it’s people from the East or from the West, in ancient times people’s thinking, behavior, and the forms their societies took were completely different from those of today. Gods all regarded that as the human way of life. But it too had a process of development. You know that China has gone through many dynasties.

Even though clothing styles changed and were different in each dynasty, people’s notions, their thoughts about how to live like a human being, and everything they did in society was really the life of a human being. So what about things now? This society appears to be very advanced, but that was all brought along by today’s science.

Why have gods allowed human society to become warped, then? As soon as this question is discussed a whole range of issues are involved, so I would rather not discuss it. But I can give you a brief overview in a few sentences. Namely, there are old forces in this universe. These old forces are not demons: They are the lives that came about after things deviated from the Fa over a long period of time.

They have no idea that the universe has degenerated. It’s precisely this type of being who, in order to safeguard everything of his own kind, obstructs living beings’ obtaining of the Fa, impedes Fa-rectification, and has formed an extremely evil force. But they are not demons, though they are doing things that demons could never even remotely aspire to doing. They hypocritically pretend that they look out for people’s well-being, but their damage is real. The appearance they have is that of gods, when in fact they are not benevolent beings.

These forces have had a seriously obstructive effect during my imparting of this The Great Law today. As soon as my gong reaches them, they actually become nothing. Once they come to understand this they will discover that they themselves are in the midst of being completely annihilated, and none of them will escape the fate of being eradicated by the Fa-rectification. That’s the process during this undertaking.

Anyway, once this subject is discussed it involves something enormous, the issues are just huge. So put differently, these old forces have existed for quite a long time, and they thus don’t believe that living beings have deviated from the Fa, and nor do they believe there has been any change in the universe.”

25

“Of course, Shakyamuni is a Buddha, so the words he said carried Buddha-nature. But I can tell you, Buddha Shakyamuni didn’t in fact tell people the fundamental laws of the universe. That’s why Buddha Shakyamuni said in his later years, “I haven’t taught any Fa.” And in the end he told his disciples to “take the precepts as your master.” Why did he say that? It was because Buddha Shakyamuni knew what would happen in the Period of Dharma’s End towards the end, and that the law he had taught would be fouled up.

He told his disciples, “as long as you cultivate yourselves based on these precepts that I taught, you will be able to meet the criteria for a cultivator and reach Consummation.” So, what he truly left behind for humans were the precepts. Of course, Shakyamuni is a Buddha, so the words he said carried Buddha-nature. So, you can’t say that the words he said are not laws. Nonetheless, they are not the most fundamental laws of the universe or the highest truths of heaven.”

26

“Everything in the cosmos has a certain predetermination to it” refers to the cosmos overall. For instance, the old Fa-truths predetermined the fact that the cosmos would go through formation-stasis-degeneration-destruction. That’s the extent of that old Fa’s wisdom. Although the destiny of the cosmos is predetermined as such, and although the fundamentals of the specific beings within it are connected to the cosmos historically, as for what a being does specifically and how much karma he has, he needs to pay for all that, and if his karma gets large he’ll be destroyed. These are all matters that have to do with that being himself.

And also, what direction a being himself takes, these are things that are basically unstable. But, through what a being does, people can see what will happen with him in the cosmos next, and then next, and then next. In other words, away from the time setting of this dimension of ours, in another time setting you can see what he’ll be doing later on, a continuation of his current state. If his present state suddenly changes, then his state in the next stage will change as well, so these things are unstable. But the overall formation-stasis-degeneration destiny for the cosmos is stable.”

27

“I am also telling everyone that a Buddha cannot directly come to save you with his real Buddha’s appearance, displaying great divine powers. If a Buddha sits here and teaches you the Fa, that is not saving people. That is called undermining the Fa. Seeing a real Buddha here, those with all kinds of unforgivable sins would also come to learn it, and there will be no need for enlightenment. Who would not learn it?

The entire mankind would learn it. Wouldn’t it be this way? Therefore, only a master that is reincarnated among ordinary people can teach it and can save people. There is an issue of enlightenment in this. It is up to you to believe it or not. But, you may weigh up the Fa yourself.”

28

“Let me also tell you that corresponding with the Law’s dissemination in society there exists in certain levels of this cosmos a principle called “mutual-generation and mutual-inhibition.” That is, while I’m teaching the righteous Law, evil teachings also emerge in turn. This is caused by the principle of mutual-generation and mutual-inhibition.

Which practice one adopts and what principle one chooses to enlighten to in this situation are what’s looked at. Because humans fell to this level of their own accord, they thereby created for themselves the obstacle of being deluded. In the midst of this maze, whether you can still recognize a righteous cultivation way and what you seek after become critical. In fact, it hasn’t been easy for you to be able to sit here and obtain the Law.

You have no idea which of your various consciousnesses have—whether intentionally or unintentionally—led you to overcome many difficulties so that you could obtain this Law.”

1

“When a human dies, he is only taking off a shell that is made up of things in the most surface material dimension, just like taking off an article of clothing; whereas the real life has reentered the cycle of reincarnation. Of course, some cultivators in the past who cultivated well had a subordinate soul of theirs picked up and led away at the end of their lives, but that wasn't the person himself. This is something that happens after a person dies.”

2

“I’d like to tell you, actually, that the people in this world… the Primordial Spirit of the person inside that human skin, back when Gods first created man, has gradually been left in other dimensions during recent time periods, and they haven’t been allowed to reincarnate over. The vast majority of human skins are now occupied by high-level beings.”

3

“Reincarnation is something that exists in the West, too. It’s something that man can’t escape. It’s just that Jesus talked only about hell and didn’t touch on reincarnation. Jesus pointed out that people had sins, but he didn’t reveal that the reason people were sinful was because they had karma. This is due to the differences in human cultures.

As for spirit possession, it’s not that it doesn’t exist in Western culture. Do you recall that the New Testament includes stories of Jesus casting out the spirits that were possessing people ? They a re recorded in the Bible. Those spirits said, “This has nothing to do with you Jesus, it’s none of your business .” Yet Jesus insisted on casting them out.”

4

“There are some whose souls (yuanshen) in the heavens don’t assume a human being’s appearance but that of other gods, who don’t fold their legs in the lotus position.”

5

“I’ve said that human beings don’t die following the death of the human life. I’ve talked about this matter in the Fa and have explained it clearly. When a person dies, only the layer of the largest molecules—the human shell or this layer of molecules on the surface—dies and falls away from this dimension.

How could your real body that’s composed of microscopic matter die? The fire in an incinerator can’t burn away your more microscopic matter, it can’t reach it. Let me tell you that this isn’t because human fire can’t burn them or human fire isn’t hot enough to burn the nuclei. It’s because there’s a difference in dimensions between the fire here and the substances there. That’s why the fire can’t reach them.”

6

“The Spirit does have an appearance, and its appearance is like yours. Yet that appearance is more beautiful than that of your physical body. He is luminous because the compositional particles of his body are more refined, more microscopic, and possess greater energy potency than the superficial physical body.”

7

“In many dimensions there are “you’s” who are the same as you. They share the same name but they are independent. This is different from your bodies in the various dimensions. Your bodies in the various dimensions are your bodies composed of different molecular particles in different dimensions. These are all you.”

8

“The Main Spirit is simultaneously controlling the bodies in every dimension. But it’s not completely so, because the part of him that is bewildered and blocked by the illusions of ordinary human society is unable to come into play.”

9

“Let me start from this most superficial shell of human beings. Nowadays, humankind is capable of every sort of vice; however, all of them came for profound reasons. That’s the relationship. Meanwhile, I’ve found that the true humankind, people who used to be here, are in another dimension, namely, the netherworld. As they died in wars, they gradually went down there instead of reincarnating back up. They’ve been totally replaced by these beings who came for profound reasons. Yet whoever comes has to be made deluded as humans are, and, without exception, they become depraved along with people’s society.”

10

“A person may have come from a very high level, but during the course of his reincarnations he might not have been a human in all of his lives. He may have been this or that. Anyway, he reincarnated into a human at this stage. You may have reincarnated into an animal prior to this stage, but it can’t be said that you are an animal. You have simply been in the course of the six-fold path of reincarnation.  What’s most important is what your true being is.”

11

“The Main Primordial Spirit usually enters not long before birth, but the specific time isn’t fixed. It might be the moment before birth, or long before birth—half a month, a month, or even earlier—all are possible.”

12

“Life exists during the pregnancy. I’ve said that when anything is created a life enters it. A product made by a factory, anything, you see them like this, yet they’re all alive. When the embryo is very tiny in the mother’s body—the moment that little bit of flesh is created—he’s already alive. So how can he be alive without a Primordial Spirit? Without a Primordial Spirit he still has life himself.

That’s because with humans, besides themselves… didn’t cultivation in the past talk about the three souls and seven spirits? Of course, what they said wasn’t specific. I’m just giving you the idea, that is, besides your Main Primordial Spirit, your body also has other elements that form a human life. The flesh body itself also has the life with your parents’ images—the images of the father and the mother are also alive. The human body is very complex to begin with.”

13

“Even though you appear to be Caucasian, Asian, or another ethnicity, you aren’t necessarily of that ethnicity. In other words, it is hard to say which heavenly paradise you came from. When you reincarnate as a particular race, that race might not be in your original image; it can’t be judged from appearance. What’s more, a person might have reincarnated in all of the races over the course of his transmigrations.”

14

“At the time when you are born, there is a “you” born in many, many dimensions. You look just about the same, do almost the same things, have the same name, are born at the same time, and die at the same time, but the quality of life is different. How are they related to you? I just said, they are born at the same time and die at the same time, and other than this there isn’t any other major connection. I said that you are born at the same time, and that means that if they were not born, you couldn’t be born, even if you wanted to be. And if they didn’t die, then it would be very hard to die even if you wanted to. So the reason those “lonesome spirits and homeless ghosts” that people used to talk

about can’t reincarnate is that not all of the “hims” have died. Only one of the “hims” committed suicide and insisted on dying, so he doesn’t have any place to go after dying. He has to wait until all the living ones have completed their life journeys before they can look for their destiny together. As for the main spirit, as I just said, your spirit is you—your main spirit is you, yourself—and the source of your thoughts is you. And as for the Immortal Infant (yuanying), that is the Buddha-body developed in your cultivation from your wisdom and Fa.”

“The higher up you go [in heavenly realms], the more wonderful and the younger [you look], and you’ll still look like you. Whether you are old, middle-aged or young today, your soul may not be like that. But the higher up you go, the more wonderful and more beautiful you look, for sure. Well, since it’s wonderful, being wonderful includes being beautiful. So when you reach a very high level, say you’ve cultivated to a certain point, you will find that you’re so beautiful that you don’t look like you do now, and that you don’t look at all like people on earth. It’s a manifestation of the realm that comes from ascending there out of humanness.”

2

“The Daoist system, as I’ve said before, the Daoist system didn’t have paradises in the past. Daoists cultivate solo and in complete solitude, and even in the heavens they stay in caves. And the Daos in the heavens wander about, too, and only in a small number of cases do they have Daoist temples. In recent times, with the appearance of the Daoist religion some Buddho-Daoist disputes have come along. That’s why the Daoist religion was established, and the Daoist religion, too, began to have Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. All of these things have been resolved.”

3

“If a person wants to be saved, he must transcend the fact that he is in and experiencing firsthand a tough environment where there is adversity, self interest, emotions and desires. Everything will involve a cultivator’s self-interest, and anything can affect you as a person, your thoughts and emotions, your heart nature, and the things that you are attached to inside. If you manage to take a certain path and make certain choices, then you are extraordinary. Otherwise, you are an ordinary person. If you are able to step out of the reasoning and attachments of ordinary people, then you are a god.”

4

“People in the past went to temples and monasteries or into the mountains to cultivate while avoiding the world’s people. Those people didn’t physically endure too many heart nature tests or have their attachments directly tugged upon, and didn’t have the most direct test of material things. So for the person’s main body it is as if he didn’t cultivate. Even though the person gave up a normal life during his lifetime, for that person it was nothing more than taking up a different lifestyle. If his assistant soul really cultivated to success and an assistant soul that came out of his body became a god, then it meant blessings for him.

That person would receive blessings in his next life. By “blessings,” that meant he would have worldly blessings, nothing more than that. Looking at it from the perspective of a being seeking something through cultivation, who would cultivate to get those things? Speaking on a fundamental level, nothing in the Three Realms was created for that, and no sentient being came for that.”

5

Just like the cycle of spring, summer, fall, and winter, changes have been happening throughout the long process of humankind's history, and all kinds of things have been continually taking place, thereby establishing and creating for humankind the culture that would be needed at the final stage. Over the ages there have been many cultivators and many cultivation ways, but there are differences among all of the cultivation ways. During the last two thousand years or so some religions of upright faith emerged.

Although the people in those religions believe in gods, the religions' cultivation methods are different, and they even oppose and disapprove of one another. Of course, there is a reason for their opposing one another: it is so that they can keep the forms of their religions stable and unchanging. In other words, people's upright faith in gods has taken different forms. Before the Fa-rectification began in the human world, no single cultivation way was specially designated in the cosmos as the set method that had to be uniformly [practiced], where all people in the world who believed in gods would have to follow that path. That is something that never happened before.

This, then, brings about an issue: it's extremely difficult for a person to break out of the secular world, to successfully cultivate out from among human beings. Besides, no examples from history have been left behind to refer to, and cultivating by following the religions of the past or of modern times doesn't work. People have known how Buddhist monks cultivate, how Daoists cultivate, how Christian and Catholic cenobites cultivate, and how the world's people should believe in god(s).

But believing in god(s) is of course different from being someone who cultivates himself, because when you [just] believe in god(s), the best-case scenario is that the god(s) will watch over you to some extent and give you blessings, or, in the case of exceptionally good individuals, they can ascend to a god's paradise and become a common being there. But in all of those scenarios no one gains an Attainment Status. Believing, in an average sense, does not equate to cultivating, and through cultivation one can achieve an Attainment Status. In other words, with an Attainment Status the person won't be just a common being in the heavens--he will have a divine position.

6

“With many beings, if they come to the Three Realms they have no way to get back to where they came from. No being in history who came here to assume human form has made it back. And in no past case where people successfully cultivated into gods or Buddhas was it that person himself who truly succeeded. It was always the person’s assistant soul that used the person’s main body to cultivate, whereas the person’s true, master soul—the very person himself—never cultivated to success.

In the cases of those who cultivated well, after a lifetime of cultivating someone in their image did indeed cultivate to success, but that was the assistant soul, whereas the master soul—or, that person—had to reenter the cycle of rebirth. In other words, think about why so many high-level beings dared to take such a perilous risk and come to the Three Realms.”

7

“You know, whether it was religions or the various cultivation forms in history, they weren’t responsible for the outermost surface of the person, the true figure, in the person’s cultivation. In other words, it didn’t matter to them whether the person’s master soul (zhu yuanshen) could succeed in cultivation. That’s why most of them involved cultivating for extended periods in a state of stillness (ding). The various states that manifest when attachments are removed in stillness can act only upon the cultivator’s subordinate soul (fu yuanshen).”

8

“What is "nothingness"? I mentioned before that people thought "emptiness" meant that nothing exists. And some people have said that "nothingness" meant not having anything exist. If nothingness truly meant that nothing was there at all, then what is nothingness itself? And if "emptiness" meant everything was gone, then what would emptiness itself be? If nothing really were existent, then even the concept of a name would not be there. In other words, the cultivation of a Great Way without form is really a formless kind of form.

You know, historically, whether it was Shakyamuni, Laozi, Jesus, or the many other Enlightened Ones or saints who taught their Fa or Dao in pre-history, they invariably took one of two approaches. One was to leave the secular world and cultivate, and the other was to take the form that Christianity and Catholicism use.For this reason, and drawing from past experiences, people have formed narrow understandings of divine beings and formed a sort of culture.

That's why as soon as you mention things like a being elevating, rising, cultivating, and so on, the world's people think about the formats that religion has used in the past and present. But these religions' formats are not the only ones in the cosmos, and they can't represent the various Law’s that boundless numbers of divine beings each validated, or the formats that each of them used to accomplish that. The number of gods at even each tiny level is so large that it's innumerable, so how could those two formats represent everything? They definitely can't. Then, exactly how many formats for cultivation are there?

There are eighty-four thousand cultivation disciplines in the Buddhist System and thirty-six hundred cultivation disciplines in the Daoist System. In fact, that was said from the vantage point of a very small level, that is the understanding at a certain level, and it was taught only to the extent that human beings could comprehend. You know, there are Buddhas beyond Buddhas, there are Heavens beyond Heavens, and there are Gods beyond Gods. So how big is the cosmos? It is just boundlessly and endlessly immense.”

9

“In cultivation, why do you have to meet a realm’s criteria in order to go over there? Because there is Law for that particular level. In that realm there is a required standard for those beings, as well as a standard for the environment of those beings. A karma-laden body that doesn’t conform to that dimension’s environment is unacceptable. A filthy body absolutely cannot enter a dimension that high.

So you have to conform to the bodily state of that higher realm—namely, a karma-free state. Not only do you need to be free of karma, but your body’s substances need to be microscopic and fine in that way. That’s something people who don’t truly cultivate cannot attain , even if they wanted to and pursued it—it can only be cultivated. It’s attained by enduring hardship and going through grueling cultivation.

Moreover, the living side of you has to conform to the standards of that realm. Or in other words, your mind, your thoughts, and all of the spiritual properties of your existence have to conform to the standards of that level.

Of course, there’s also a standard for the form of existence of that dimension’s lives. You can’t go there as a human being like this. You have to assume the appearance of the beings in that dimension when you are about to Consummate. The higher the level, the more youthful and beautiful the appearance of those beings.

The lower the realm, the less beautiful. As one goes higher, not only is the appearance more beautiful, but also the thoughts have to be more pure and refined. One’s way of existence, speech, demeanor, and movement will all undergo changes. Their speech is like poetry, and that’s just the way of things at one certain level. Higher levels are even more splendid. It definitely wouldn’t work if you didn’t conform to the requirements of that realm.”

10

“Many people have attained the Tathagata Righteous Attainment through cultivation. All in all there have been a lot. Many people did after Shakyamuni attained the Way; they cultivated successfully in the Buddhist religion. And there were people among Jesus’ later disciples and monks whose cultivation met with success. Of course, in China there are lots of cultivation ways. Since cultivation ways aren’t geographically restricted, in ancient times there were also those in Western society who practiced cultivation, and quite a few of them succeeded. It wasn’t by way of religions that they succeeded. But in recent times there have been few who Consummated . In contemporary society the number is almost zero.”

11

“The speed of human thoughts is quite fast. As your level rises you will penetrate every dimension in the levels below you. Listen carefully to what I’m saying: As your level gets higher, when your Gong or Energy penetrates any of the dimensions in the levels below you, it isn’t subject to the time restraints of those dimensions. Gong (Spiritual energy) is directed by intention. Since you live in this environment, your walking speed, the speed of your car, and so on, every single thing is limited by the time of this dimension. The intention that people emanate is rapid in this human dimension.

If a person is a cultivator, he transcends the restrictions of this dimension and his intention is extremely fast. Meanwhile, we’ve said that a person’s gong and all of the abilities carried in his body are controlled by his thoughts. So that means, when his intention arises, his gong arrives—that’s how powerful he is. I’ve said that if the abilities of those of you who have cultivated to very high realms were not locked up for you, you might really turn the Heaven and Earth upside down in just an instant.

So before a person has reached complete Enlightenment, he is absolutely prohibited from being unrestricted while he cultivates on the earth, it’s absolutely prohibited. It is all right for those people with minor abilities, since this dimension is watched over by the gods of this dimension, and those gods can control all of this so that a person can’t topple Heaven or overturn Earth. But if a person’s abilities are greater it won’t be allowed.”

12

“A person can Consummate at the level of the initial level Arhat Attainment Status as well , attaining self-liberation is adequate. It’s not necessary to think about saving all sentient beings, and a person doesn’t need to think about taking care of others—the cultivator just needs to work at attaining liberation himself and achieve it. That’s the initial -level Arhat Attainment Status.

If you want to achieve the Bodhisattva Attainment Status—even if it’s just the initial Bodhisattva Attainment Status—you need to cultivate and develop a heart of great compassion as you cultivate, and along with achieving self-liberation, you have to also help others be liberated. W hether you can accomplish that or not, you will have that compassion, see all sentient beings as truly suffering, and shed tears at the sight of them. It’s not feigned —it is real. It’s not something you will to happen. Of course, in cultivation that state won’t occur all the time, but it will occur.

Your compassion will be different if you cultivate into a Buddha. You definitely won’t shed tears like a Bodhisattva does when looking upon sentient beings. You will have compassion , will more clearly understand the karmic connections among sentient beings , and will view everything with greater wisdom. When Buddhas who have cultivated to a level much higher than a Tathagata stop and look at it, they’ll think, “What kind of compassion is that? ” They think that the compassion Buddhas have toward ordinary human beings is also an attachment.

They can only be compassionate toward those Gods, Buddhas, and sentient beings in the paradises of Buddhas below them , but have no compassion towards human beings. That’s not to say they aren’t compassionate, but rather, their realm s are too high. To them, the lives down here are so trivial that they ’re even lower than microorganisms. They don’t think that those deficient human beings are any kind of useful life form.

When Buddhas who have reached even higher realms look back, they think: “Oh, these Tathagata Buddhas are ordinary people too; what are those people doing down there? ” What do human beings look like to them? Humans are nothing ; they burrow around in the dirt like extremely tiny microorganisms. Then what about Buddhas in even higher, and even higher higher realms ? If you want to achieve th at state, you have to cultivate to that realm.

Then what about Buddhas in even higher, and even higher higher realms ? If you want to achieve th at state, you have to cultivate to that realm. I’m only giving you a simple idea of what it’s like. It’s not limited to just this.

The True Fa can’t be made known to human beings , because you still have human minds. Beings in different realms have different ways of existence. Also, the physical bod ies of beings on this side are constantly changing. If a Buddha ’s body is composed of atoms, then the bodies of those even higher Buddhas , and the bodies of the gods who are higher than Buddhas , could be composed of what is equivalent to neutrons. Further up, they could be composed of neutrinos or quarks.

And that’s only the microscopic scale that humans can recognize. What about those that are composed of more microscopic, even more microscopic matter? Their energy is visibly greater . The smaller a substance’s particles, the greater its density. Their appearances are thus extremely fine and lustrous. We can see pores on the human body, but if you look at a god’s body, there aren’t any pores. If you look at the beings in the Three Realms with bodies that are one level higher than those of humans—that is, the heavenly beings at different levels inside the Three Realms—you will see that to the human eye, their bodies are smooth , fine, and just wonderful.

That’s because their particles are smaller and denser than those of humans in the secular world. In other words, as a being continually elevates, the entire form at the surface elevates in tandem; but elevation of realms is a prerequisite. Consummation can be achieved in different realms. No matter which level you reach in cultivat ion, what’s below your level will no longer be a mystery to you. Everything below will be displayed before your eyes, and you will see things as they truly are. Yet everything higher than your level will forever be a mystery to you, you will never know about them, as where you are is the Attainment Status you have enlightened to. You will get out however much you put in and cultivate .”

13

“We don’t deem the physical forms found here among ordinary people to be important. Why is that? What’ s being change d is the human heart and mind. If a person’s heart and mind don’t change, it’s all meaningless. If, say, on the surface you have nothing and yet deep down inside you can’t let go of things and are antsy when it comes to these human things, it’s useless.

If you say , “Deep down inside I ’m not attached to them and I just see them as things that allow us to keep a human state, ” then I would say you ’re doing pretty well. Of course, all of these things are to be left behind when you reach a high and profound level in cultivation.”

14

“Consummation takes many different forms. As you might know, Shakyamuni taught Nirvana in order to discard human attachments to the greatest extent. In his cultivation way they didn’t even want the human body. So a person in his practice shouldn’t be attached to the human body, and should just cultivate that way. Tibetan Lamaism teaches Light-Transformation.

That is, the person sits there at the time of Consummation, and if his entire body is successfully cultivated, at the moment of Consummation his body is transformed into a beam of red light and his own Soul leaves with the successfully cultivated Buddha-Body. Since the Buddha-Body that is successfully cultivated doesn’t contain matter from this ordinary human side, human beings can’t see it, and can see only light and that a shape made of light rises up.

There are people who haven’t cultivated that well and who can’t undergo Light-Transformation of the entire body. So at the time of Light-Transformation his body instantly shrinks, “Shwa!” to a full person about one foot tall. It looks exactly like him but has been reduced to about a foot tall, with a proportionate body. That is because he didn’t cultivate enough and was not completely transfigured in Light-Transformation.

There are other scenarios too. In the Dao system in China, they take the form of “deliverance from the corpse” when they Consummate. What is “deliverance from the corpse”? In ancient China, many people practiced the Great Dao. The cultivation way of Great Dao requires that after a person succeeds in cultivation he takes the body with him—their way even wants the body. But this type of person’s flesh body is no longer an ordinary human body, for it has been completely transformed into high-energy matter and become his Dao-body.

Their method of deliverance from the corpse is as follows. The person knows that he has cultivated to Consummation and that his entire body has been fully cultivated. How is he to leave the secular world? Most Daoists don’t resolve their unfulfilled wishes among ordinary people until after their Consummation. The Buddha system isn’t like that, though, as things are resolved in the midst of one’s Consummation.

Deliverance from the corpse would stop people from looking for the person after he leaves. He will fake his death, though by that time he is in fact capable of going up to the heavens or entering into the earth. As he is about to leave, he tells his family: “I will pass away. I have succeeded in cultivation and I’m about to leave. Prepare a coffin for me.” Precisely at the time he predicted, he lays down in bed and a moment later stops breathing.

Family members see that he has passed away, so they put him in the coffin and bury him. But in fact, he has used the ability of “camouflaging”—he has used a supernormal power. What his family saw that day wasn’t his real body. So what was it? It was conjured from an object he had pointed at. He used a shoe, a whiskbroom, a wooden pole, or a sword, and transformed it into his own image. He had pointed at an object and transformed its image.

It knows how to say whatever is needed, and it says to his family: “I’ll lay down here and in a moment it’ll be over. Just put me in the coffin, that’s all.” So in actuality, it was that piece of wood, that whiskbroom, or maybe a shoe [laying there]. The real person had left and gone far, far away. So the family buries him. After being buried, in a few hours that object will in fact return to its original form; it will return to a shoe, a bamboo pole, or a piece of wood.

That is what’s called “deliverance from the corpse.” Sometimes a persons will return from somewhere else and say: “Oh, I saw so and so from your family in a really far off place. We even spoke to each other when I went there for business.” His family will say: “That can’t be. He passed away.” That person will then respond: “I saw him. He hasn’t died. I really did see him. I even spoke with him and had a meal with him.” “That’s bizarre, he really did die.” His family knows that he was a Daoist: “Let’s dig him up and take a look, then.” When the coffin is opened they see a shoe in there.

In the Dao system there is also a form called “Ascension in Broad Daylight.” The Ascension in Broad Daylight form is used when a person’s body has been fully cultivated and he has fulfilled his wishes in the secular world prior to Consummation. It’s time for him to leave since there is nothing left to do. At that point something called “opening of the heavenly gate” takes place; in other words, the gate of the Three Realms is opened.

Then, for some a heavenly god comes to receive him, or there comes a dragon, a crane, or whatnot, on which he rides and flies away, or a heavenly chariot comes to carry him. Such things happened a lot in ancient times. There is Ascension in Broad Daylight of this sort.

In our practice system, I use the method of Ascension in Broad Daylight for those who are to go to the Falun Paradise. There are people in some cultivation ways who don’t want the body. Everything in that person’s entire paradise would be thrown into disarray if he were to be given a body. It’s just like with Shakyamuni’s Nirvana: If you were to give him a body it wouldn’t be Nirvanawouldn’t the entire cultivation system be spoiled? His paradise is composed of the elements of Precept, Concentration, and Wisdom, and so he doesn’t want the body.”

15

“As you know , in Chinese temples some Buddha statue s have another four heads on top of the head, or yet another three heads on top of those four heads, and one more head grows a top those three heads. Actual ly, it is a manifest form of a Buddha’s Fa-image at different lev els. Which is to say, at different levels the changes in bodily states are quite profound. It’s not only magnificent, but solemn, majestic, and incredibly wonderful.”

16

“When you sit in meditation and find that your mind is running wild and bothered by all sorts of things, it’s precisely because those things are having an effect. I’m spelling this principle out to you in a precise manner. I’ve found that monks in ancient times basically stayed in temples and didn’t have contact with complex society, so their minds were relatively simple. Moreover, they often stayed in meditation without coming out of trance, which made their minds very simple and allowed them to be free of thoughts about protecting their self-interest.

And that would, in turn, reduce the occurrence of thought-karma and of disruption from it. So they often sat in deep meditation and meditated in seclusion, the real purpose of which was to cultivate in tranquility. Since cultivation depends on oneself and gong depends on one’s master, the masters from their cultivation way or from the relevant paradise were looking after them and removing their thought-karma in the course of their tranquil cultivation.”

17

“In true cultivation only the heart and mind matters. Everything can be done for you so long as your heart is with Buddha and your mind meets the standard for cultivation. As for a person who’s enshrouded by karma, from what I see, even his bones are black. How could an everyday person change himself fundamentally and reach the realm of a Buddha? No matter how much virtue you accumulated or how many good deeds you did, could you change all of those things that you’ve done lifetime after lifetime? You can’t change them in the least. Accumulating virtue isn’t cultivation. That won’t do it.

Let’s suppose that in your past lifetimes you killed and harmed many lives, and those have to be paid back by you. Even if you were to pay with your life one lifetime after another, continually reincarnating to pay with your life, you still couldn’t pay the debt. So how could you possibly cultivate? If, after you reach Consummation and consummate your paradise, all of the lives that you’ve harmed are saved to your paradise to become common beings, won’t it be a good thing then? And your karmic debts will be settled.

But who’s going to do that for you? Only the person who saves you—it has to be someone with that ability—can do that for you; you have to pay back your debt, and that arrangement is considered repayment. If you can’t cultivate into a Buddha, however, you’ll never manage to pay all those karmic debts of yours. That’s how these things work.”

18

“Everything falls within the principles of the cosmos’ Law. In the past, the Dao system talked more about the Void. First, it’s actually a manifestation of the way one realm is. When Heaven and Earth were created, it was referred to as the Great Void (Tai Xu). In the eyes of different gods, the creation of Heaven and Earth doesn’t manifest at the same level. The process of renewing different paradises and different universes in the cosmos is referred to as “the creation of Heaven and Earth” as well.

The Dao system regards it as the highest realm. Secondly, in your cultivation state, this “void” means that you need to forsake your human side. Human beings view humans as the most real. When the master soul has let go of everything, the human side is void. For people who cultivate their subordinate souls, it’s said that their knowing soul (shishen) dies and their soul (yuanshen) is born. In the past they called the subordinate soul “the soul.”

19

“If a person fails to cultivate to Consummation, the matter of consummating his paradise doesn’t exist—it doesn’t apply to him. There are just a few possibilities for those who don’t Consummate. The first is, if they’ve truly abandoned their major attachments, then they may go to a level just below their original place.

Or, if they want to continue their cultivation, it’s possible they will bring with them everything they have that’s been sealed and kept for them, reincarnating into the world again to continue their cultivation. In yet another situation, if the person doesn’t want to cultivate anymore, what he’s attained in his cultivation will be converted into blessings and virtue; it will likely become rewards like wealth, fortune, fame, and rank, which he can enjoy in his next life.”

20

“Supernatural techniques vary from religion to religion and from one cultivation form to another. And there are different supernatural techniques at different levels. Generally speaking, they are different methods used in cultivation practices or for demonstrations. They’re just that kind of thing. They include healing, subduing demons, etc.”

21

“As you know, if you want to go to a heavenly paradise, you have to do so through cultivation and getting rid of the bad things in your body. If you want to take this body with you, you have to assimilate it to the things over there, transforming it into a Buddha-body before you can take it along. It’s a matter of elevation. If substances this filthy were to be placed in a Buddha’s paradise, wouldn’t that be terrible? That’s absolutely not allowed. What’s over there is elevated matter. All substances have to go through a process of elevation before they can go over there.”

22

“Let me tell you why people aren’t able to do cultivation in Buddhism today. One of the most crucial reasons is that they aren’t cultivating, but pursuing. Yet they don’t realize they are pursuing. What are they thinking when they worship Buddha? “So and so in my family is sick; I beg you, Buddha, to bless him because I believe in you.” What they mean is: “I’m believing in Buddha, I’m burning incense.” So they’re bargaining with a Buddha.

While worshipping the Buddha some people are thinking… they don’t have a specific motive in mind when worshipping Buddha and burning incense, but every day when they do this, they think: “Doing this means I’m paying respect to the Buddha and cultivating Buddhahood. Buddha, look at how pious I am to the Buddha.” They’re thinking to themselves, “I’m so devout in front of the Buddha. Buddha must be seeing this.” The Buddha won’t accept any thinking of the sort. He’ll think that the person is no good at all.

I often say that people in Buddhism don’t know how to cultivate anymore. This is what I mean. They don’t realize it at all; their intentions are deeply concealed. Nowadays people have become very crafty. People today know how to hide their attachments. And then they hide the hiding of their attachments.”

23

“I’ve talked about “Three Flowers Gathering Atop the Head.” Three Flowers Gathering Atop the Head occurs only at a very minor level and is a manifestation in the In-Triple-World-Law. When one reaches a higher level there will be manifestations at higher levels and many types of forms occurring over one’s head, and the pressure felt on the top of the head will be great.

You’ve probably seen that Buddha statues have bodies of different variations, some of which have four heads, and some of which have one head stacked atop another head, which is stacked atop another and another…”

24

“Humans descend here from various levels because of their wrongdoing. They drop to the lowest level, this deluded society, and are given a pair of eyes made of the largest molecular particles. And for that reason your eyes can’t see other dimensions. Then during our cultivation, why can some people see things that everyday people can’t? It’s because those persons’ Wisdom Eyesight has been opened. We call it “opening the Third Eye.” They don’t see with the human eye that is composed of molecules. Nonetheless, some of these people still feel that they’re using their eyes to see. In fact, both types of eyes can function at the same time, only you feel as if you are using your eyes to see.”

25

“In the ancient cultivation ways of the past, including other religions in the past, cultivators would intentionally confine themselves to a state of total isolation in order to prevent bad thoughts from arising. Some went to monasteries or convents, some went to temples, and some went into the mountains and stayed in caves where they were totally isolated from the world. Moreover, they had to meditate in deep trance over a long period of time.

Their types of meditation in deep trance were totally different from the kind of entering tranquility that I’ve taught you. They would reach a state of trance where they were no longer conscious of anything. You might even say that they were sleeping. They wanted to have the mind become tranquil. I consider that state they entered exactly like having the Main Consciousness cease to exist. A serious problem would result if we were to still use those ancient cultivation methods today.”

26

“Reincarantions are arranged by those particular gods who are responsible for reincarnation and affairs in the human world. It’s all done by them in accordance with a person’s situation and his karmic situation. Yet a certain situation exists, where some people have to wait a long time before reincarnating; others wait for a short amount of time. Why? Suppose that when human beings reincarnate in society they tend to come in groups. Then instead of randomly reincarnating somewhere, they would often come as a group.

People within a group formcertain social relationships among themselves in one lifetime, and in the next life it is again arranged that they’re related in society. Oftentimes, those who aren’t related to your group seem to have nothing to do with you. People living in this world all have the feeling that some people in society don’t seem to have anything to do with them, whereas some other people always seem to have some connection with them.

Those may very well be people in their group. So a group often reincarnates together when it comes time for reincarnation. But they might not live in the same place, nor will they all come at the same time. You come first, then he comes later; some are old, some are young. Anyway, that’s how they come. After coming here, you pay back to him in this lifetime what you owed him in your previous life. That’s how things are.

If you were good to him in his previous life, in this life you will have his help and he’ll repay you with something good. It’s just like that. This refers to some of the things that happen during reincarnation for those who haven’t accumulated a lot of karma. Those whose karma is massive might be unable to reincarnate as human beings again. They reincarnate as plants, animals, or eventually substances. They are eliminated only at the very end.”

“Some people can remember things from their previous lives because their brains weren’t thoroughly cleared. During their reincarnation, their brains weren’t properly cleared or their memory part wasn’t locked tightly. A little is left and so they have memories of the previous life.”

“I mentioned before a saying in the world of cultivation: Some people are “already in the Dao without practicing the Dao.” What does this mean? This type of person has meager means in the society of everyday people and constantly encounters tribulations. But whenever troubles occur, he’s able to treat others with kindness and find faults inside himself. This person is truly the best kind of human being. If he keeps on conducting himself this way and is able to persist until the last moment of his life, you will find that he attains the Dao.

Why can he attain the Dao? For example, you all know that Western religions differ from what I teach you today, as do those cultivation practices in the East. They believe in “faith.” As long as you have faith in the Lord or Jesus (Christ) and follow God’s teaching, you’ll be able to go to Heaven. It’s the same idea.

Of course, Western religions are in fact also cultivation practices. Why is that? When a person prays, he confesses his wrongdoing. The next time, he does the right thing and stops making the same mistake. He gradually comes to conduct himself better and better, and he doesn’t repeat any previous mistakes. Isn’t he behaving better? Isn’t he improving himself while cultivating heart nature? Cultivation is about cultivating one’s mind.

So isn’t he elevating his mind? And isn’t this type of elevation a practice of cultivation? He’s nevertheless missing one thing: Our cultivation practice uplifts both mind and body at the same time, while his cultivation way only cultivates the mind. So at the end of his life he will be judged by Jesus Christ or the Westerners’ God, Yahweh, to determine whether he meets the criteria to ascend to Heaven. If he does, He will create a divine body for him and take him up to Heaven. Our cultivation way today, on the other hand, is similar to the characteristics of some ancient cultivation practices in the East. While improving your heart nature, your original-body (benti) is also being transformed and replaced by high-energy matter. This is a feature of our cultivation way.

In regards to cultivating a Buddha’s body, it used to be said that as a person increasingly improves his level during his practice of cultivation, an Immortal Infant will arise in his dantian.  The Immortal Infant continually grows. When it becomes visible, it will bear the image of a little Buddha or little Dao infant. It grows bigger and bigger. When it has grown to be the same size as the person’s body, it will replace the person’s original flesh body.

Buddhism believes in Nirvana —the flesh body isn’t carried forth. Those who have seeing abilities can observe that when the flesh is cast off, a Buddha will emerge from the body and take off. People of the East and West have different views because their cultures are different nowadays. In ancient times, some people in the West also cultivated the Dao and some cultivated their bodies as well. It’s just that modern Westerners have lost this heritage.”

“No omission” used to be a term in Buddhism; that is, it was cultivation language in Buddhism. Consider this, humans have all kinds of feelings, desires, and various attachments, all caused by their emotions. They are numerous, such as jealousy, the intention to show off, hatred, etc. Every one of these attachments has to be eliminated. It’s still considered an omission if any one of them isn’t removed. One cannot reach Consummation if there’s an omission. A person needs to cultivate until there is no omission and no attachments left. He or she will be able to reach Consummation only when there’s truly no longer anything omitted.”

“In the realm of an Arhat or Bodhisattva, human emotions are replaced by grand mercy. Human beings live for affection and emotion. That is, humans are immersed in emotion and it’s hard for them to break away. A person can’t practice cultivation
